The bee's are gone. They showed up sometime yesterday, were here as of 2pm today ( I showed them to my brother) then by 8pm, they arent here anymore. Must have been some huge swarm that decided to huddle up in our tree for 24 hrs.....then off again. ODD!!!

We have been SWARMED! this brood of bees are living in our one and only tree in our backyard. It is a few feet from the house and right where the kids play. I honestly dont know what to do. So odd that we havent noticed them before. We were just looking at the tree earlier in the day, trying to decide if we should trim it more or just get rid of it totally.....then later in the day I noticed the bee's flying around it......with closer look, saw the massive swarm entangled in the tree. Jeff is planning on calling someone first thing Tuesday morning. Until then, no playing in the backyard, they freak me out!

I think we are going to have trouble convincing Mason that he will have to hit the ball off that little Tee when he starts to play ball next year. The only baseball offered to his age,(you have to be 5 so next spring) is Tee ball. This kid likes to be pitched to, and ummm, he can hit! Hopefully we can get him to understand that is just what you have to do...

Teagan is officially a "walker"!! All week long the amount of time walking vs crawling has been increasing.....over the weekend she pretty much made the transition to fulltime walker!!! Wahoo!!

She went to a baby shower with me yesterday.....she did awesome! We both had a lot of fun!!

We had some big storms roll in last night. We were lucky around here, although we did have to retreat to the teens room for a short while (her room is in our basement....safest place to be during a possible tornado). Strange, her room looked like the tornado already hit..hmm, must have been one of those strange "reverse tornado's" that hit the inside of the house first. Before the storm got loud....it was actually pretty cool! I took a few cool pics of the clouds rolling in as the sun was setting.

This is Mason finally feeling better (has strep throat), he joined me outside to watch the cool clouds.

A "friend" of mine has "flashback wednesdays" on her blog. Another friend of mine was reminiscing about how life was different 2 yrs ago.....so it got me thinking. I went back and read my blog from 2 yrs ago! Very interesting, since at that time we didnt know we were pregnant with Teagan and had no idea how our lives were about to change!!

Here is my entry from April 25, 2006:

I am not a very patient person.......it has been 1 month since we were placed on the waiting list, the list that is supposed to take 4 to 6 mos, 3 mos until we can even expect anything....yet I cant help but drive myself crazy! I was given a list of requirements that we needed to have done before we could proceed when it comes time. Annual gyn exam, mammogram and Jeff's genetic testing~ ALL DONE! the only thing that I still need to do is have my gyn doc send over the results to the RE.....that will happen at the end of this week (they need time to have all results in my file). If I was this efficient with the rest of my life, I would be at a decent weight, my house would be clean, and our finances would be in perfect order.......for some reason, I cant apply my efficiency to the other aspects of my life......maybe I need the RE to tell me: You need to lose 50lbs, have a clean house and no debt before we can proceed......hmm, maybe that is the motivation that I need.

I have been trying to lose weight, something that is not very easy for me.......I have been working out 2-3 times a week, walking 2x a week.......and yesterday I started (should I dare say it) a "diet"...it is the curves 6 week diet, (err )life eating plan......hopefully I will have some "progress" to report over the next several weeks.

Alexis starts softball tonight, I like watching her sports...games dont start until end of May. She is a little nervous, she has played softball on the same team since Kindergarten (7 out of 12 girls were from the original k-garten team last year!)This year she is going to be playing on a local team (since we moved last summer), we dont know who is on the team (hopefully she will know someone), we dont know the coach and we dont know the league. I am hoping that it is still a fun season for her. School will be out in just a month......wow! She is going to be pretty busy this summer, so my plans of a babysitter are pretty nil.

Volleyball camp June 12-16~ 12:30-3:30

Drivers Ed starting at end of June 7-9am (mon-fri) for 3 weeks, plus a few afternoons through the week of driving time.

Softball

Plus a few single daytime volleyball camps spread out over the summer.

Hmmm.......very different indeed, yet still the same!!! LOL! My house is still a mess(but now I have the messes of a 4yr old and a 1yr old, so 2x the mess), I still need to lose weight (although as of today I am down 13lbs since March 1st and almost to my Pre-mason weight!!!!),and well....there is still plenty of debt! The biggest difference is probably that I finally feel complete. I was so desperate back then to have a baby, so empty...it literally consumed our lives. We have truly been blessed!!!

Teagan has only taken a few steps since Sundays victorious walking video...still has no interest in it.

oh, and on a side note:
Yesterday was my 41st birthday. on sunday, Jeff & Alexis both gave me gifts, unwrapped, no card......but I loved them anyway..stuff for my camera. Well on my actual birthday, yesterday (just 2 days after receiving my gifts)... my husband forgot that it was my birthday....totally blew it off. I saw him in person 2x during the day, plus talked to him on the phone over 3x...each interaction I waited for him to say 2 simple words "Happy Birthday"....they never came out of his mouth. Needless to say, I was (am) hurt. I want to acknowledge that I told Mason it was my birthday first thing in the morning.....and 20 minutes later he came up to me and said "Happy Birthday mom!"....he got to go to the donut store for that one!!!!!

They did it!! I almost had a heart attack watching the end of the first half....but they tied the game with 6 seconds left!!! They won in OT!! I was there in 1988, the last time they won, and this 08 win brings back a flood of memories!!!!

I love reading blogs, there are some really creative people in this world and of course I love seeing pictures of happy families, listening to stories of other mothers, etc. Today I was reading a friends blog, in it, she posted a link to a story of a little girl who is about Teagan's age. This little girl's name is Emily. She is 16mos old and has red hair....sound familiar? Could be Teagan. this little girl and her family are going through a parents worse nightmare. I was touched by the story because it could be my child, it could be my friends child, so that makes Emily's story important to me. I feel that the more people who read this story, the more prayers she will receive. The power of prayer paired with the internet has endless possibities. I am praying for Emily. I hope that you will be touched by her story too.

28 hrs after my brother received the call about the baby. The birth mother's water broke. He is here safe and sound! Born on 3/6/08.

My brother and his wife have been waiting to adopt for several months now......today they got the call that we have all been waiting for!! They have been matched with a birth mother!!!! She is scheduled to be induced on March 19th.........yes, 2 weeks from today!!!!! we (like how I include myself) have lots to do!! I need to get busy and pull out all the baby things!!! Oh yeah.....It's a boy! Asking for lots of prayers that everything goes smoothly for them!!!

Yesterday was a very busy day.....and poor Teagan is down right tuckered!!! We went to a baby shower, she did awesome..she did manage to take a little nap on Grandma for a short while. I was hoping that she would sleep on the 1hr ride back home, but no such luck. As soon as we got home, we loaded daddy and Mason in the van and headed out to Uncle Jeff's to watch KU basketball (Go Jayhawks!).....there were lots of kids to play with at their house, so she was very busy chasing after people. She finally fell asleep on the way home (about 10:30pm)...but woke up when we pulled into the garage. I gave her some milk and down she went...at about 10:45pm.....we did not hear a peep from her until 10am!!! She went back down for a nap at 1pm; it is now after 3 and she is still snoozing!!
Feel bad for her, but pretty darn happy that I have kids that can be flexible enough without going into total toddler terror mode!!

Been a crazy week at our household. Alexis had surgery to remove her adenoids (for the 2nd time) on Thursday(great valentines for her). She has recovered nicely and is back to her perky self. I have been on a preschool search and also trying to figure out what we are going to do for Mason's 4th birthday......it is coming way too fast! It seems that searching for a preschool is almost as equivalant to selecting a college (ok,not really but close!) We attended an open house at one school today and we have to visit 2 others this week. A decision has to be made because everywhere is filling up fast!! I am sure that I am making this way more complicated than it should be.....if it were up to Jeff, he would just pick the closest, cheapest place.. Oh well I will figure it out soon.

edited to add: at dinner tonight discussed preschool situation, as predicted, Jeff says "which one is cheapest? I told him, he said ok, go with that one"......argh!!!!

On another note....Jeff and I met with a deacon in our(my) church on Sunday. I say "my" because I am the one who is catholic and usually attend church by myself. anywhoo......this was the first step in having our marriage blessed by the church. We need to meet again with either the Deacon or the priest one more time, then we will schedule a time to have the "ceremony". Pretty exciting stuff.

ok, off to figure out something to make fo dinner!

Today is the birthday of a friend of mine....a friend that I dont know anymore, a friend that I have lost touch with, a friend who will always hold a special place in my heart. I really dont know when or why we lost touch.....our lives were just in different places, we forgot to call each other, we didnt work at the relationship. I tried, honestly...even when I didnt know phone numbers, I mailed christmas letters every year to the last known address, each year asking for her to contact me. One year, the mail came back with NO KNOWN ADDRESS. It makes me sad that someone who was so special to me doesnt know my 2 youngest children, she doesnt know what a beautiful young lady Alexis has grown into, and she doesnt know that I finally have found happiness with a wonderful man. I hope that she does know that I think of her all of the time......I am hoping that one day she and I will see each other again. I miss my friend.

What a difference a few weeks can make!

Teagan has exploded in her verbal skills recently....or maybe it is just that mommy and daddy have finally figured out that when she is jabbering, there is a reason to it. In the past week, I have heard the following things come out of Teagan's mouth.....all in context!

1. Dog (pointed to a picture of a doggy, and did the sign the same time)
2. Go bye (she repeated this after daddy asked her if she wanted to go bye-bye)
3. Thankyou
There are many more but I cant seem to remember all right now. She only says it once, so you really have to be paying attention, but she is definetly communicating with us!!!

She is still not walking....I am somewhat torn about this. In one instance, I want to keep her my baby for as long as possible, but in another way...I feel sad when I see all these other babies close to her age (and younger) walking all over the place....
Dont get me wrong, I am not worried about it at all......heck, Mason didnt walk until he was almost 16mos old, now the boy doesnt know "walk", he only runs!

Guess we will see what the next few weeks bring!

I am now the mother of a 17yr old! How did that happen???
Alexis was born on this date, in 1991! wow, that seems like a lifetime ago.....she is excited about her birthday....we surprised her with a new computer already last weekend. Tonight we plan on having dinner with some family and then I think she has a celebration planned for this coming weekend with her friends.

Teagan had her 1yr appt yesterday...yeah, on her 13mos birthday. I was late making the appt so we had to wait all month!
Poor girl got 4 shots.......not fun! She was a trooper though. She is growing great, her weight has really slowed down but steady.
Only "concern" is her lack of verbal skills (i.e. amount of words she is supposed to be able to say). Doc was quite surprised when she asked if she was saying "mama & dada".. and my answer was NO. She refuses to say mama (although at 7-8 mos, she used to say it). She really only says "hi" she will say "hi dad" when he comes in from work sometimes and we are pretty sure we have heard random words on occasion such as "grandma" "hi dog" "up".... but we cant get her to repeat them so we aren't really sure. She is not walking yet, but not worried about this one, she is a pro-crawler & has mastered the steps (going up & down). Mason didnt walk until he was 15.5 mos old....and now we cant get him to slow down!

Miss Teagan Rose turned 1 yrs old yesterday. I am so sad that I no longer have a baby, but excited that we now have a blossoming toddler! We are hanging onto little pieces of babyhood with the fact that she is not yet walking, but that is just a matter of time! She let go of me 3 times yesterday and stood on her own for about 2 seconds....
We had a wonderful birthday party yesterday, she was a gracious guest of honor! She loved all of her new things and didnt cry once! She devoured her cake (well mostly the icing)and ate tons of chex mix!!

We have been getting freezing rain/sleet & ice on and off since Saturday....the worst of it last night, closing schools today. The kids (mason & teagan) and I have been cooped up in the house! Mason and i are getting somewhat stir-crazy....he was very disappointed when I told him that school was cancelled for today. Teagan is taking it with stride....LOL!! She has mastered climbing the stairs and now is practicing going down. That is what we do most of the day......go up the stairs, go down the stairs, go up the stairs, go down the stairs!! She is so proud of herself each and everytime!!!

Teagan had her dye test (cystourethrogram)yesterday. As usual, she was quite the trooper!!! They filled her bladder up completely full and watched it on an x-ray machine. None of the dye left the bladder, meaning she does not have Kidney reflux as they thought. The concern was that her urine was being sent back up to the kidney, causing her infection. The pediatrician was 90% sure this was the cause of her recent kidney infection......so now I am waiting for the pediatrician to receive the results of the test and call me. Since Teagan does not have Kidney reflux, I am guessing that she will not need to remain on the antibiotics for the next 6mos as originally prescribed. I never thought to ask the doctor "what if it isn't kidney reflux".....so I am wondering what would have caused such a bad infection in her kidney in the first place.
She is doing awesome,crawling all over the place. She is trying to pull up on everything in sight, but just can't quite do it yet!

Update: I received a call from doc's office and Teagan is going to have to remain on the antibiotics for the next 6mos.... bummer

Teagan turned 9mos old over the weekend!!!Today she had her 9mos check up.

Here are her 6mos stats:
wt= 20lbs 10z ~ 97th percentile
ht= 27 in ~ 90th percentile

9mos stats:
wt= 21lbs~ 75th percentile
ht= 28.25 ~ 85th percentile

Her recent illness plus her new found mobility (crawling everywhere) has really slowed her weight gain down.

I havent blogged in awhile. It has been absolutely crazy at our home. The past few weeks are a blur to me. Teagan was so sick and i was so stressed that I havent had the thought to write it all down.
It started on September 11. Jeff and I took Teagan with us to a Royals baseball game. We went with my brother and sister-n-law. During the game, Teagan was extremely cuddly, she fell asleep on my chest....I thought it was sweet (she never does that!) She felt a lttle warm but I thought it was because she was laying on me and she had a sweatsuit on. When we finally got home around 11pm, she still felt warm, so I gave her some tylenol. I then decided I should probably take her temperature, just incase. I took the temp under her arm, where it soared up to 102.8.....whoa, I had always been told to add a degree....so to me she had 103.8 fever. I waited about 20 minutes, hoping the tylenol I had given her would start working. I then took her temp rectally and it was a whopping 104.3. Panic mode set in, I had never had a baby with such a high temp. I quickly called the doctor and we proceeded to put her in the tub to see if we could cool her down. The doctor called back around 12am. She stated that just to keep her comfortable, and switch to motrin, as that usually works better on fevers. We had a rought night and she never got her fever down under 102.
I called the doc in the am and they said to bring her in that afternoon. She was seen by a nurse practitioner. They decided that because she didnt have any other symptoms, they would do a urine check. The results would take 48 hours. In the meantime, she was put on Amoxicillin, hoping that would help. The NP told me she would probably run a fever for another day but would be ok......well after 2 doses of the antibiotic, she was not better and she actually seemed worse..so I called again.
We went back to the doctor. This time she was seen by another doctor. The doctor said they didnt have any results back yet but she would give her a shot of Rocephin (a powerful antibiotic)to hopefully jumpstart her getting better. They gave her the shot, then gave me a single dose of another antibiotic to give to her the next day (friday afternoon). The doctor felt that they should ahve the results back from her urine test by then and they will then prescribe the most sufficient antibiotic for her. Friday afternoon came around and I hadnt heard anything from the doctors office.....so I began calling them. The docs office does not answer the phones after 4pm and the weekend was coming, so I was getting nervous. I called the office at 3:30pm, they said they would check things and call me back. Finally got a call back, the nurse says "the results aren't in yet, so just keep her on the omnicef"....I then told her that we were only given a single dose...and she did not have any medications for the weekend. Her response was "oh, well someone will call you in the morning".....I repeated back to her "someone will call me tomorrow?" she said Yes. Well saturday morning came, Teagan seemed a little better but was still running high fever and not eating. I waited all morning for a call from the doctors office. They have urgent care from 9-11am, so I figured I would get a call after they were done seeing the patients. When I didnt get a call by 11:30am, I called the oncall number. A nurse practitioner (not the same one) called me back. I explained the situation and told her someone was supposed to call me with results of the urine test and call in a Rx. The NP said that they had already left the office for the day and she had not seen any results. I told her again that the baby had no meds and she was very sick. She said she would call me back (so sick of hearing that) She did call back and said they would call in a Rx for more omnicef. She then proceeded to tell me that when she got to the office on Sunday (1pm) she would look for the results and would call me (yeah, right). Sunday came and went, no one from the doctors office called.
On monday morning, I started calling the doctors office as soon as their phones were open. Again, I explained the situation to the nurse....."someone will call you back" ARGH!!!!!!! Finally the actual doctor called me back (2pm) and confirmed that Teagans results were in and she was indeed a very sick baby. When I told her that Teagan still had a fever, she became worried and said that she wanted to have an u/s done on her kidney today or tomorrow.....she said she would have the nurse schedule it and you guessed "call me back" At 3:30pm, I had not heard back, so knowing that the phone lines close at 4pm, I again called them. The nurse who answered tells me this "oh, well I just got the file and it just says schedule ASAP"...What does she thinks this means???? I told her that the doctor told me that she wanted it done today or tomorrow. "oh, well I will call and schedule it and (say it with me) "call you back" At 4:15pm, she called back, the u/s is scheduled for Wednesday am. Whatever.
On Tuesday, Teagan was doing tons better and only had a low-grade fever (99). Wednesday we had the u/s done and the radiologist couldnt believe that the film was from a child who was outpatient...her kidney looked pretty bad. The radiologist and the pediatrician spoke to each other and decided that since she was feeling better, she didnt need to be admitted.

Finally by Thursday, Teagan was fever free and doing much better. My girl seemed herself again. On friday the doctor called us to check on her and stated that she needed to be seen again for a recheck..
Yesterday (monday) I took her in for the re-check. Her urine was visibly better but we have to wait for lab results. She also has to have a dye-test done to check her kidney/bladder function. She has been put on antibiotics for the next 6mos to make sure she doesnt get sick again.
I am so upset by all of this. I should have just trusted my mommy instincts and taken her to the hospital, but I didnt want to be "the panicky" mom. Never again!

Her Dye test is scheduled for Oct 2.

Guess I havent been a very good blogger lately. It seems that the days fly by and I am so tired at night, that I dont feel like updating. As you can see from the videos and pictures, Teagan is changing almost daily. She has a new skill just about every week now......she is amazing!!!!! Hard to believe that she is rapidly approaching 8mos! Her latest "talent" is clapping!! Out of nowhere last night she just started clapping, we think it was because we had been at Mason's Tae Kwan do class and we clapped several times for the kids. I have spent the past few weeks preparing her room.....yep, she is still in ours. I have painted and her room is ready, just havent taken that last step and moved her crib in yet. So hard to let go when we KNOW that this is our last baby. I quit breastfeeding about 3 weeks ago, hard to do but she is doing great.

Mason is doing well. He is getting so big! He recently started Tae Kwan Do, and he is doing awesome!! I am soooooo proud when I sit there watching him listen and follow directions (something that he lacks here at home!) We are more than ready for school to start up ( he will go back on Sept 4th).....it has been too hot to go outside, or even to the pool, so he is going stir-crazy (so is mom!)

Alexis started her Junior year of highschool today......holy crap, how did she get so old????? She continues to work for subway but was also offered a job at Jeff's work....so next week she will work there after school, she is excited....the pay is pretty good.

Next week, My mom, me, Teagan and Mason are taking a roadtrip to Colorado to visit my brother.....should be an interesting trip with the 2 kids in the car that long!!!

I see a gold medal in her future.....

Teagan has had a very rough day......poor girl! The MRI went well but it was not a good experience. They couldnt get the IV started in her chunky little hand.....so after fighting with it and having her scream for what seemed like forever, they tried the other hand...finally got it in. We sat in the waiting room for ages, ok 45min..then we were able to take our sleepy baby home. She finally woke up around 1pm and seemed pretty happy. Then I had to take her to her 6mos appt at the pediatricians. She got 2 shots! (ugh) She is definetly a trooper!

ht= 27 in ~ 90th percentile

Time has come for Teagan to have her MRI for the lipoma in her back. She is scheduled to have it done on Monday morning. I hate the fact that she has to be put to sleep and has to have an IV in her. Heck, it tears me up that I can't feed her after 3am...I am gonna be a mess. Cannot wait to get it over with. We will not have the results until we meet with the neurosurgeon on July 11th. She is also scheduled to have her 6mos check up tomorrow, so we will have some new stats on her!!

Sorry that I haven't posted in awhile......been crazy around here!!! I will post updated pics soon but here is what is going on with us:

Alexis is out of school for the summer....social life is in full swing! We had a HOUSEFUL of teens on Sunday evening (remind me never to agree to "mom, can I have a few friends over?"!!! The street outside our house looked like we were having a major party....but mostly because the state law says that new drivers can only have 1 passenger in their car.....so basically everyone brought their own car....) Our big screen tv survived the teens playing Wii.....

Mason is now potty-trained (WAHOO!!!!) He has been going on the potty for months now but we were never consistent with it and I didnt ever put full blown effort into the "training" part.....well on Memorial day something snapped in me and I decided to do COMMANDO potty-training...meaning..all or nothing!! I told him that we were done with diapers and we went for it!!! He hasnt worn a diaper since that day! He is doing awesome....with occasional accidents, but those are very rare now!!! Yippee, there is a new found freedom, yet there is also a new paranoia in me that has developed....I am constantly asking "do you have to go potty?"....no turning back now!! YIPEE!!!!
Mason also just ended his first soccer season.....He loved it!! He starts Tee-ball this coming weekend!!

Teagan~ turned 5 mos old!! She is currently able to roll over from back to tummy! She has not figured out the tummy to back roll-over yet and gets a little frustrated. She has one bottom tooth that has popped through and the other is just about to break through! I have a major problem with this girl right now.....she refuses to take a bottle!! I have been trying for the past 2 weeks to get her to take either breastmilk or formula in the bottle....it is my own fault......she was taking a bottle previously but I got lazy and since we hadnt gone anywhere, I "forgot" to give her one...then I wnet out to dinner one night, came home 2 hrs later and the poor child was SCREAMING!! Daddy had tried to give her a bottle (although I thought it was his bottle-making ability at first (he has been known to make them too cold or not to even measure right))Since that night, I have tried different types of bottles, different people giving her the bottle, bottles with breastmilk, bottles with formula.....NOTHING! She closes her mouth up tight and refuses, if you try to force the bottle in she SCREAMS! I was hoping to have her weaned by 6mos of age....looks like she has other plans! She is also not warming up to the idea of other foods! We have only had a few successful cereal feedings (one of them being the picture below)...she has no interest in food....I have to say that this child is my STUBBORN one....
We are having Teagan's baptism this weekend!
As a family~ we have a vacation planned for the end of July!!! We will be travelling to florida....should be an interesting trip with a teen (possibly 2), a toddler, and an infant. We are very excited to spend 6 days on the beach!! Jeff's sister and her family are going also........Mason is crazy for his cousins, so he will have a ball!!

Oh yeah~ I have been doing weight watchers (well sort of).....I have lost a total of 11 lbs (my goal is 50....20 before the florida trip) I did really well the 1st 2 weeks but lately I have totally slacked off, but the scale is still slowly moving down. My reward for the 1st 10 lbs is a pedicure......so I reached that goal this week...off to get my feet pretty tomorrow while mason is in school!!!!

My "baby" has gotten her first job.....I am in disbelief that my girl is driving all over town and now even has a "career"! She is a Sandwich artist at subway!!! Her first shift was last night. She didnt want me to take a picture of her in her outfit, but I told her that if she didnt let me take it at the house, I would show up at her work with my camera....she posed for me in the driveway!!!

The pediatrician called yesterday......she does not want Teagan to have the MRI until she is 6mos old!! Yippee!! so it is now scheduled for July. This is such a relief! If she would do it before 6mos, they would have to use anesthesia, and I did not want to have her go through that.

Remember way back when Teagan was less than 2 wks old and had to have the u/s on her birthmark?! Well to remind you, she had the u/s and we were told that the birthmark was just fine, but in the process they found a lipoma (fatty tissue/tumor) near her spine. The doc was supposed to talk to radiologist about the findings (they recommended an MRI)...but we never heard anymore about it. When I took Teagan to her 2mos appt, the doctor remembered about it when she saw Teagan's birthmark. She said that she would call and request a neurosurgeon consult and hopefully we could skip having the MRI if at all possible. Well, I received a call from the doctors nurse, stating that the neurosurgery dept had recieved the referral and they had looked at the u/s pictures....they want an MRI before meeting for a consult....so Teagan is scheduled to have it on April 25th (they want her to be between 3 & 4 mos old), she is on a "move-up" list in case anyone cancels. I have to say that I am extremely nervous about this....they will have to sedate my baby in order to do the MRI. Ok, so I am preparing myself for this......

Today I received a call from the hospital appointment people, they stated that Teagan has an appointment scheduled on March 14th with the dermatology clinic...this has me very confused....the lady said something about this will speed up the process or something like that (mason was being very loud while I was trying to get the info). I really have no idea what this appointment is for...only guessing it is to look at the birthmark?! so any way, I really not sure how to prepare for an appt that I have no idea about.....not sure if I should make hubby go with me or not...
I will update when I have some sort of a clue of what is happening.....

Had our 2mos appt today. Ms. Teagan is quite the tubby (just the way I like'em)

I actually got a couple of roses from my husband!! The best part....the bottom of the vase was filled with snickers bars! He really loves me!!! We were snowed in yesterday, school cancelled...so I didnt get out as planned to buy my valentines. so no one is getting anything from me this year....thought I would do my hubby a favor and not spend money (LOL!) oh yeah, and I will take a shower...sure hubby will appreciate that one!

Alexis turns 16 today!! Cannot believe it!!! She thinks we "blew-off" her birthday, well at least that we aren't making a big enough deal of it. Well, she is in for a surprise afterschool. A limo is picking her and a few friends up from school and driving them around town (alexis gets to choose). It was difficult but it seems that she really has no clue!! I am about to leave to go get a few pictures of the event...I will update later.

Teagan slept in her bassinett from 9:30pm-3:30am last night!!!! I got 6hrs of sleep (in a row!!) We have to celebrate these little victories......they are few and far between!! For the 3 nights prior to this one, she was up every 2hrs,plus up from 1-4am each night!!!

Hello!! Sorry that I have neglected the blog lately!! I am still adjusting to having a baby and a toddler...seems my time is used up!! Things are going pretty well, Mason seems to love his little sister.....although it is evident that he is feeling a little neglected by mom.

Here are some of the girls stats:

12/29:
wt= 8lbs 8oz
Length= 19.5 inches

1/15
wt=9lbs
length= 22 inches

Some concerns:
Teagan was born with a strawberry birthmark on her lower back.....because of the placement the doctor ordered an u/s. We had the u/s on 1/11 and received the results today at Teagan's 2 wk doc appt. The u/s showed that the birth mark was a surface mark only, not affecting the spinal chord.....(whew, relief!) but it also showed that she has a lipoma (fatty tissue)below her spinal chord and the radiologist suggested an MRI.....the doctor couldnt really tell us what it means or what they would be looking for, she stated that she would call the radiologist and try to get a better understanding for the recommendation. She also suggested that we would need to see a neurosurgeon and have a consult about it, before doing an MRI (baby would have to be sedated for an mri, so we are trying to avoid it if it is not necessary).Doctor said she would call us in the next few days with more info.

Appt update
Appt was very fast...got weighed(gained 2lbs),blood pressure (122/78), got belly measured (36cm), listened to heartbeat (about 145bpm).....Doc just gave me instructions about when and if to call..otherwise...next appt 12/20 (should be last one until her birth!)

Today I am officially 35 wks pregnant.....so amazing and unreal!! We are 3 wks and 2 days away from meeting our little Teagan!! And sadly I must say, I still havent gotten things ready for her arrival. I have done some laundry,etc.....but I have not packed a bag, I have not found a place to put her clothes, I have not made up the pack-n-play ( her bed for the 1st few months), I have not pulled out the necesseties ( boppy pillow, new carseat/carrier, bottles, binkies, spit-up rags, etc).
I am almost ready for Christmas though......have a few more presents to buy, some more wrapping to do but for the most part....I am done! I mailed the last of my Christmas cards today.....hooray! Tomorrow is my "shopping day" so I hope to really finish up....then I can start preparing for Teagan's arrival!!

My little brother has come home safely from Iraq!!! He arrived at his base in Killeen, TX this afternoon!!! He called here earlier....so great to hear his voice and to know that he is away from the dangers of the war. He went to Iraq exactly a year ago, we got to travel to Texas in May to see him while he was home briefly on leave....he will come back here in 3 wks for Christmas!! Cannot wait!!!!

Please continue to pray for the rest of the troops who continue to put their lives on the line everyday!!!

Well no shopping today....we have icy roads, school is out and expecting 5-8 inches of snow! I am glad my appt was yesterday! The appt went well, pretty average. Although the doc had a hard time finding the baby's heartbeat....no panicking, just he couldnt find the right spot.....baby was in a funny position (i guess), plus my doctor said he had been delivering babies all night....guess 2 area hospitals were totally full of laboring moms! Baby is doing good.....my belly is now measuring spot on @ 34 wks! 29 days to go!!!!!!

Cannot believe that I have not posted in 2 whole weeks.....yowza!! Time is starting to fly by and stand still at the same time....I know that sounds crazy but it is true! I have spent the past week trying to get ready for baby, yet it seems nothing has been done....or then again, there is just so much more to do! I have been christmas shopping too....yeah! almost finished......I even wrapped some of what I have bought. Of course, Mason unwrapped a few of the presents under the tree the other morning! So there will be some re-wrapping going on soon! My plan is to finish up (mostly) on Thursday while Mason is at school, but now they are saying we could be getting a big snowstorm.....so it may just be a day to order more stuff online!
I have my dr appt later this afternoon.....I will update afterwards, but I am sure it will be just like last time......in and out without much excitement.

Room update!!! The sheetrock guy came yesterday.He had the walls and ceiling up in less than 3 hrs! He came back later in the evening and taped & mudded everything.......he will be back this afternoon to sand!! The room actually looks like a room now!!!!

Had my 32 wk appt yesterday...it was a quickie! In and out in less than 20 minutes! Doc says everything looks great......I received my c-section instructions and was told to come back in 2 weeks. The c-section is officially scheduled for 12pm on 12/29!! Wahoo!
